Hi everyone,
Remember this photo? One year ago today we were on pins and needles all day long waiting for "The Call". Then, just before 4pm, two little retired ladies from across the street couldn't stand the wait anymore, knocked on our door, and stepped inside just before the phone rang. Absolute mayhem ensued, with Kevin and I nervously grabbing a pen, the phone, and computer, while the little ladies held their mouths behind us. The rest is almost a blur, we could barely breathe from the excitement. Then this photo followed in an email. Suddenly, we were parents.
Now look at her! Little miss personality, fearing nothing. Leaping into the pool into Daddy's arms, giving hugs and kisses (especially to kitties and pictures of The Wiggles), making new friends wherever she goes.
Can you believe it's been a year already? And by this time next year, we'll be close to getting her baby sister, Madeleine! Life has certainly been good to us.
So even with the poopy diapers (she's now starting to tear them off), food tossing at mealtime (almost under control), messy kitchen floors, toys jabbing the tender undersides of our feet in the dark of night...we're so happy, so blessed to have this beautiful little girl. By the way, her bib reads, "It's All About Me".
Thanks to our families and friends, and even friends of friends for their support and wonderful Blog comments. To the wonderful FAC parents, the moms at storytime, and anyone who has been a part of Emily's life so far, we thank you. We entered a world we only dreamed about last year, one full of love and laughter, and the incredibly sweet, happy sounds of childhood.

Hi everyone! Life has been busy, as usual. Now I laugh all the time! Mommy 'n Daddy say gone is the serious little girl they first brought home and in her place is a happy, friendly toddler. Heck, I'm just enjoying life! Mommy really enjoyed her first Mother's Day with me. She won't stop hugging me! But I like it.
My Great Uncle 'n Great Aunt Visit
For those of you who don't know Uncle Jack, he reminds Mommy when she forgets to update my website. He and Aunt Kathy (Daddy's aunt and uncle, Grani Frani's brother) flew all the way from California to visit me!
We visited the Fountains, an outdoor park on the river
that's just for kids! I loved the water jets. Daddy and I have the best time frolicking through the jets. He's my best buddy. Thanks to Daddy, I'm not afraid of water!
We also visited the Kennedy Space Center. I liked the
astronaut--here I'm teaching him Head, Shoulders, Knees and
Toes.
He finally got it.

Emily's Milestones
I'm doing less Sign language now since I feel like talking! I can say "head", "hair", "nose", "baby", "mouth", and the one that scares Mommy, "No"! Mommy says "no no no" when I play in Mia's water dish, so it's her fault! I can also say "wall", "please", "meow", "papa", "towel", squirrel, etc.
Busted...need we say more?
- I hardly ever suck my fingers anymore, and Mommy and Daddy are relieved. I take a pacifier once in a while, instead, but even that is getting old.
- I'll be 2 years old next month! Mommy and Daddy are throwing me a Wiggles birthday party. I can't wait. I weigh 23 pounds and just keep growing.
