Happy October!

We visited our first pumpkin patch, ever!

Other highlights this month:

- Daddy found me new Arial (mermaid) pajamas. I said, yeay!!

- Guess what I'll be for Halloween? A mermaid!

- My favorite color is still purple, and I like kitty cats, Arial, Clifford the Big Red Dog, Thomas the Train, writing the alphabet, and drawing. The printer is always out of paper because that's my personal stash.

- When I saw my friend Summer's house decorated for Halloween, I flung my arms up in the air and yelled, "It's Halloween! This is wonderful!!"

- We're all sleeping through the night (kind of), because I'm a big girl and don't have to go potty while I'm sleeping!

- But, I'm scared of the dark now, so Mommy or Daddy have to lie with me sometimes.

Welcome Finn Nathaniel Grogan!

Londoner friends Bob, Nicole, and big sister Ella Grogan welcomed Finn Nathaniel, born September 30, 2007. Finn was 2 weeks overdue and birthed without drugs (congrats, Nicole!!) and weighed 8 pounds at birth.

The Boltons are in China!

Our friends the Boltons are in China for the adoption of their second daughter, Chloe. Chloe is in the same orphanage as baby David, so hopefully they'll get to meet him! Here is their website to follow along:

October Update

Hi all,

Nothing new on Baby Uncle David...we're just in waiting mode. But, Mr. Russ and Miss Cindy (Abigail's Mommy and Daddy) just received their travel notice! They'll be leaving for China in a few weeks to meet Abigail's new baby sister, Chloe! With any luck, they'll be permitted to meet my baby brother, who's in the same orphanage! How exciting!

Meanwhile, here are some great photos of me and my girlfriends, taken by Miss Natalie, Ashley's mommy.

My Milestones

- I'm drawing all the time! Especially letters. Here's a tribute to my new friend, Olivia.

- Here's my first drawing of Mommy (Mommy's on the left, and I'm on the right. And no, mommy's not operating a steam shovel!).

- My preschool class is learning to write! (This is the letter "I".)
- I can recite the Pledge of Allegiance. Everyone must cross our hands over our hearts with one hand and wave a pretend American flag with the other), followed by a rousing rendition of "This Land is Your Land"...all sung by me and only me.

My Daddy 'n Me

When Daddy travels, we keep in touch with silly emails, photos and video. It helps me when I start to miss him too much. I like to sit at the computer and pretend I'm typing a letter to Daddy while Mommy tries to get in a few words.

That was Emily typing again. Daddy, we went to the beach today and didn’t see mermaids or you, but we collected lots of purple seashells. Very exciting! My feet got wet in the water, and I got lots of sand in my toes. Mommy had to wash it off when we got home. Also, I drew train tracks and a smiley face in the sand with a sea bean, much to Mommy’s amazement.

We did go to Starbucks before the beach, where I ate lemon pound cake with icing (didn’t share much with Mommy) and drank orange juice. And I sang songs for the patrons. kcl dflxcjcdocxofdoffdroreofr orr,bbg,hgbbbbbgbv;ghghghg[‘ghpg’ht (That’s Emily typing AGAIN, while saying, “Dear Daddy…”, her fingers flying across the keys).

Then tonight I answered the phone twice, each time it rang. Mommy’s mouth is still hanging open. Miss Natalie said she had a lovely conversation with me while Mommy was letting Mia out to pee. Then I hung up on her.
