Hi Everyone!Sorry for the much belated update, but nothing's really that new...except for our Dorothy the Dinosaur (a Wiggles character) beanie baby. She goes everywhere with Emily, sleeps with her, and has her own blankie that Emily covers her with every night.
Swimming continues to be our life. Note the cool swim suit/inner tube combination.
Unfortunately, someone is a bit wild, and prefers to float face first in the pool, just like Grampa Lee! (He used to scare the lifeguards at the ocean.) Most of our time now is spent fishing her from the water and trying to tell a 2-year old that what she's doing is dangerous...yuh huh.

So shaving cream is supposed to be a good tactile experience?? Hah! Mommy's never reading another child development article!! We both smelled like Daddy for hours afterwards.

--Her love affair with Daddy continues to grow. Every night that he's working late or travelling (lots, lately), Daddy calls Emily at bedtime to say good night. Emily walks around the house with the phone to her chin (can't quite get it to her ear), laughing and signing "daddy". Without these calls she's inconsolable.
--She's mimicking even more of what she sees in the kids' shows, and picking up additional words. In fact, just this past week she started combining two words: "Bye, Jo Jo", "up, down", "all done", "all gone". (This is a significant milestone for an 18-month old, and Emily's 24 months.) She also counts to 5 on her fingers, and is starting to say her colors, especially the Wiggles ones. This is also a milestone for a younger child, but we knew Emily was delayed from spending her first year in an orphanage. So Emily's starts speech therapy next week, which will better prepare her for school one day.

We started gymnastics! We're in the "Baby Rosebud" class for 2-year olds, at Tumbleweeds Gym. The gym is loaded with geometrically shaped mats (triangles, squares), ladders, slides, etc., for little ones to go wild on. And they do! We'll have to take pictures because it's too funny! Here's an example photo of Emily standing where she shouldn't be!Teen girls with obvious gymnastics background assist the kids. Emily especially loved the rings--she hung from them, swung, and let go, landing on the mats with a giggle. The girls helped her swing up and over a wooden bar. Mommy got quite the workout, too, chasing Emily through the large gym.
