Last weekend we celebrated Emily's upcoming birthday and David's post-op visit by doing the Pirate and Princess Party at Disney!
Emily was so excited to meet her dream girl--Cinderella! She donned her favorite Cinderella gown, and Daddy surprised Emily with "real" glass slippers (gel shoes) before the big moment.
Our little princess waited patiently in line for 30 minutes for the highlight of her life. Once she spotted her princess she shouted "CINDERELLA!!" and launched herself at Cinderella, who, acting as if she'd been waiting for Emily all along, held out her arms and gently enfolded our tiny little girl in her embrace. Did Mommy cry? Of course! Who wouldn't, especially when the two girls began to waltz since they both had identical ballgowns on.
The girls then knelt down for photos, and big Cinderella instructed little Cinderella on how to gently grasp her gown in one hand and spread it out for the best photo effect. And thus it began...Emily was minus a shoe most of the evening since she kept kicking one off, crying, "oh no, it's Midnight!" and fleeing the Grand Ball while daintily holding up her gown just as Cinderella taught her. It was hilarious. We had been living and breathing Cinerella for over a month, and now we're done for!
As for David, he was a bit overwhelmed, refused to wear any costume, and didn't buy the whole Cinderella thing. He's too used to being forced to bend on one knee and kiss his sister's hand, so he knows who's the real Cinderella! But he sure had an eye for Sleeping Beauty!
Here's friend Ashley meeting her favorite princess! Thanks to friend Natalie for suggesting the Pirate Princess Party, especially since it's half price and you enter the park in the evening when it's not too hot! We enjoyed meeting Pocohontas as well, since she has long black hair like Emily's! It was a fun night, although David hated the fireworks. Too much sound for the little guy's ears!

Ok... I will admit seeing Em with Cinderella made me tear up... I love those glass slippers Em and hope you remembered to curtsy like I taught you to do... take care
Wow! You met Cinderella!?! That is going to be a tough act to follow; however, I'm still really excited to meet you two in a couple of weeks. (And to see Mom and Dad too.)
